FAQ
Q: Does your boat have a bathroom?
A: Yes, we have a POTTY!
Q: Do you provide drinks?
A: No
Q: Do you have protection from the elements?
A: In the Summer there is a top on the Get Sum to provide some shade from the hot sun, we do take it off for a bit in the fall when it's time to do tautog trips. Then back on it goes with drop sides for the rockfishing in the winter to provide some protection from the elements
Q: What kind of on-board fishing help do your provide?
A: We strive to let you be as hands-on as you want to be... there is a mate on board to help you but feel free to bait your own hook and take as active a role in your fishing experience as you’d like.
Q: What is included in your rate?
A: Our prices include your trip, all bait and tackle, fish cleaning, and non-alcoholic beverages on board the boat, but does NOT include tipping of your mate.
Q: Is alcohol allowed on board?
A: You may bring your own beer if you would like, but no glass bottles.
Q: What time should we be at the dock?
A: Please be at the dock 10-15 minutes before your scheduled departure. We run on a very tight schedule in the summer.
Q: What should we bring?
A: You should bring sunscreen, sunglasses, drinks, and snacks.
Q: Are children required to wear life jackets?
A: Children are not required to wear life jackets on our vessel during your trip but we do have them available if you decide your child needs to wear one, or feel free to bring your own.
Q: What should we wear?
A: Wear light clothes in the summer but bring something to cover up with, whether it’s because the tide changes or the sun is just hot. Better safe than sorry!
Q: What type of shoes are allowed on Get Sum Charter boats?
A: Please wear shoes with non-marking soles. Usually, shoes with a light sole are non-marking. For example, deck shoes, flip-flops, etc.
Q: Is a fishing license required?
A: No fishing license is needed to fish with us! Our charter boats maintain the necessary licenses to cover all of our passengers.
